Vietnam

Vietnam is a stunning country boasting incredible scenery, white sandy beaches and unique culture - all of it still relatively untouched by tourism.   This is a destination which will not disappoint you if you are looking for great golf, memorable sightseeing, a friendly welcome and a myriad of different experiences. Between the bustling centres of Ho Chi Min City (Saigon) in the South and Hanoi in the North, lie the beautiful towns of Hoi An, Nha Trang and the famous Mekong Delta with its floating markets and maze of intricate waterways.   If you then want to extend your stay by another couple of days, you can easily reach Cambodia and explore the highly historically significant sites of the infamous Killing Fields at Choeng Ek just outside the capital Phnom Penh and admire the stunning temples at the UNESCO protected World Heritage site of Angkor Wat.
If you only have a few days to spend in Vietnam or if you are already in the Far East and want to make a flying visit to this great country, we would recommend you fly into Ho Chi Min City and stay at least three or four days in this vibrant and full of history city.  You will be able to enjoy the sounds and colours of the many markets, taste the fabulous food, do a couple of day tours to visit the main attractions of the city such as the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Vietnam History Museum and Cao Dai Temple.  A visit not to be missed is also the one to the Cu Chi Tunnels – they are approximately 60 kilometres outside the city and well worth the journey – a reminder of local life and guerrilla efforts during the Vietnam War, a memorable day out. Also a must is a visit to the Mekong Delta with its floating markets and typical South East Asia atmosphere – this can be done as a day trip if you are tight for time or you can decide to spend a couple of days and visit the area more in depth.

There are three excellent golf courses in the Ho Chi Min area – Vietnam Country Club, Long Thanh Golf Club and Song Be Golf Club.  All three are challenging and a great golfing experience.

After a few days in Ho Chi Min City, you could then travel to Phan Thiet located about 200 kilometres south and stay a couple of days in this typical Vietnamese seaside village on the beach and play the magnificent Ocean Dunes Golf Club, rated in the top 10 courses in Asia.

For longer stays, we can of course organise a tour to take in a flight to Dalat, a charming hill station gateway to the Central Highland of Vietnam, where you will be able to play a round of golf on the lovely Dalat Palace Golf Club.

From here can you can then fly to Hanoi and spend a few days sightseeing in this laid back capital full of charm and elegance.  From Hanoi you can then visit the world famous Halong Bay and maybe spend a night/two days on one of the many cruise lines that offer panoramic tours of this mesmerising part of the world.

Again depending on how long you have to spend in this magic land, you can also choose to relax for a few days on one of the many seaside resorts on the long coast of Vietnam such as Nha Trang, Hoi An and Da Nang – all three resorts offer pristine beaches and lovely villages and are ideal to relax and kick back or a few days between or after sightseeing tours.

As mentioned at the very beginning, Cambodia is only a short flight away and a visit to its capital Phnom Pen is worth the trip – this city is located where the Mekong and the Tonle Sap rivers meet and from here you are only a short drive away from the famous Killing Fields site at Choeng Ek. Another short flight away and you can get to the UNESCO protected World Heritage site  of Angkor Wat with its many perfectly preserved temples literally emerging from the jungle.
