South Africa’s vast landscape includes savannahs, snow-covered mountains, forests, tropical swamps, endless beaches, tranquil rivers. bustling urban epicentres and of course spectacular golf courses. South Africa is known for its abundant wildlife (and of course the famous "big five") as well as its fantastic birding and eco-tourism possibilities. However, the real heart of this vibrant country is the diversity of people and cultures.
This has been a favourite destination of ours for many years now and many of our clients have travelled to South Africa and enjoyed the many many attractions it offers. Golf can be combined with great sighseeing, safari adventures, seaside relaxing breaks and much more.We will be happy to organise a memorable itinerary for you – we have now been booking South African packages for more then 10 years so if you need advise on how to maximise your holiday time, please do not hesitate to give us a ring.
Below are just some of the main areas we features including some suggested hotels and golf courses.

One place that everybody must visit at least once.
We have here the Cullinan Hotel and the five star Table Bay – both lovely hotels on the waterfront and offering excellent facilities – great food and drink are right at your doorstep. From the Cullinan you can be at Royal Cape, one of the oldest golf clubs in Africa, within 20 minutes and a little further afield you will find Erinvale, Spier, Pearl Valley, Stellenbosch and Clovelly - all great golfing challenges.
From Cape Town of course you can explore and enjoy Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape Point and the winelands of the Western Cape. A wonderful place to enjoy your holiday.
From Cape Town you can make your way to Fancourt, which is about a four hour journey by road. This used to be a tedious journey but nowadays about an hour and a half from Cape Town in the direction of Fancourt you come to the town of Hermanus and the really quite superb five star Western Cape Arabella Sheraton Hotel. Lovely hotel and a quite magnificent golf course – the rooms here are as good as anything you will ever see anywhere and the golf course is awesome. This provides a really nice break of the journey on the way to Fancourt.

The KwaZulu Natal/Durban area offers some really outstanding golf and great accommodation. You have Durban Country Club of course rated number one or two in Africa by everybody – a private members club to which we have access. We don’t use Durban city itself as a place to stay but offer people the Selborne Hotel and Country Club which is about 40 minutes south of Durban.
Selborne itself is a beautiful parkland golf course now run again by the Barker family.
About half an hour away from Selborne you have San Lameer, a very scenic and striking course and a further 20 minutes away you have Wild Coast Casino and Golf Course – the back nine on Wild Coast would stand comparison to anything you can play anywhere in the world, really quite superb, stunning views and always in great condition. You can of course also stay at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel playing golf there and travelling to the other two courses, both available to you.

Another beautiful resort we regularly use on the north side of Durban is Zimbali offering two beautiful golf courses on site and one of the most relaxing and luxurious hotels in South Africa.

Finally Sun City, sometimes much maligned but a really wonderful place. It is like a mini Las Vegas but you have everything on site. Sun City offers one three star hotel, the Cabanas, really a four star by most standards, then you have the four star plus Sun City Hotel and Cascades Hotel and then finally of course the Palace, which is graded five star but is nearer to a seven star – an absolutely magnificent hotel, so ostentatious and so far over the top that it is really incredible. Within the complex of Sun City they have their own lake and even though they are in the middle of the wilderness, they have created an artificial Valley of the Waves. You also have several restaurants including the Butcher’s Grill, probably the best steak-house in Africa. Of course you have gambling and you have shows and you can even go for a four hour safari into the Pilanesberg Reserve where you have the chance of seeing all of the Big Five. Finally of course you have probably two of the best golf courses you can ever find in the Gary Player Course, venue for the now Two Million Dollar Challenge, and the Lost City, which in my view is a more enjoyable course to play – both superb courses.

One could not talk about South Africa without mentioning a safari. It is, for those who have been on it, a quite wonderful experience never to be missed. It is expensive, no doubt whatsoever about that, but just beside Sun City in the Pilanesberg Reserve they have very good four and five star lodges.
If you are limiting your visit to the southern part of the country, the best safari lodges are to be found about 70 kilometres from Port Elizabeth and here again you can stay in either the four star Lalibela Lodge or the five star Shamwari Reserve or many other excellent lodges for varying prices.

In the very north-east corner of the country you then have probably one of the most famous game parks in the world, Kruger Park. Access here is mainly by plane from Johannesburg and the lodges in the Sabi Sand area are just absolutely out of this world – very expensive, but really worth stretching your budget if what you are looking for is luxury in some of the wildest areas of Africa and the experience of a life time to see wild animals in their natural habitat with the help of experiences and knowleageble rangers who will be happy to answer any of your questions and really make your stay an unforgettable one.
