The perfect sport holiday...

 

In the breathtaking setting of The Costa Brava we prepared five different routes to satisfy all sort of interests and level of cycling. You can also combine different sports: cycling, trail running and open water swimming which is an outstanding experience!

 

 

Price per person sharing a twin room: €1090

 

Price includes:

  • Return Flights from Dublin to Barcelona/Girona
  • 5 days road cycling or mountain bike tours (other sports are optional)
  • Commemorative GVE jersey.
  • Guide accompanying the bunch.
  • GPS (route track) rental.
  • Van tracking service in case of breakdown or retirement.
  • 7 nights half board accommodation (lunch and breakfast).
  • Barbecue and closing celebration on Friday night.
  • Medical insurance in case of accident.

 

Package price does not include airport transfers. Transfers can be arranged on request.

You will cycle between 90 and 140 km daily, and all routes have an accumulated incline of 900-2000 meters.

 

 

DAY 1: Arrival to L’ Escala

Arrival to Barcelona airport, transfer to L’Escala.

Hotel Can Miquel, a charming place with lovely sights, will be your base. It is located in Cala Montgó, a beautiful beach and it also has a swimming pool and a barbecue.

At the agreed time, introductory briefing for the sports program by Outdoor Empordà.

 


DAY 2: Sant Pere de Rodes

(Optional): at 8h, first Open Water Swim crossing.

At 10h starts the first cycling stage:

Stage 1: mostly on flat area. It climbs to Sant Pere de Rodes (central section of the track) to ride later on the plain.
Cap de Creus is optional.

Going back to Can Miquel.

14h – 16h: Lunch time

In the afternoon, if wanted, trail running through fantastic tracks.

19h: briefing at Outdoor Empordà.

 


DAY 3: Cistella-La Vajol-Peralada

(Optional): at 8h, first Open Water Swim crossing.

At 10h starts the second cycling stage:

Stage 2: route with more gradient that passes Cistella, La Vajol and Peralada. Coll de Manrella (720m) with its monument to Lluís Companys is optional.

Going back to Can Miquel.

14h – 16h: Lunch time

In the afternoon, if wanted, trail running through fantastic tracks.

19h: briefing at Outdoor Empordà

 


DAY 4: Third stage

(Optional): at 8h, first Open Water Swim crossing.

At 10h starts the third cycling stage:

Stage 3: flat tracks with no remarkable ascent along quiet areas surrounded by cultivations and forests.

Going back to Can Miquel.

14h – 16h: Lunch time

In the afternoon, if wanted, trail running through fantastic tracks.

19h: briefing at Outdoor Empordà

 


DAY 5: Coll de la Pallaia- Sanctuary of Mare de Déu dels Àngels

(Optional): at 8h, first Open Water Swim crossing.

At 10h starts the fourth cycling stage:

Stage 5: It climbs the mountain passes of Coll de la Pellaia (380m) and the sanctuary of Mare de Déu dels Àngels(484m).

Going back to Can Miquel.

14h – 16h: Lunch time

In the afternoon, if wanted, trail running through fantastic tracks.

19h: briefing at Outdoor Empordà

 


DAY 6: Coll de la Ganga

(Optional): at 8h, first Open Water Swim crossing.

At 10h starts the last cycling stage:

Stage five: Flat tracks and a unique climb to the Coll de la Ganga mountain pass (330m).

Going back to Can Miquel.

Barbecue in the beach and closing celebration.

In the afternoon, if wanted, trail running through fantastic tracks.

19h: briefing at Outdoor Empordà

 


DAY 7: Free day

You can enjoy the wide variety of activities that the Costa Brava has to offer:

- Outdoor activities: sailing or parachute jumping;

- Cultural activities: visit Dalí’s museum in Figueres or the natural park of Aiguamolls de l’Empordà;

- Shopping in Girona.

 


DAY 8: Return

Flying back to Ireland.
